I have recently done a few oxygen sensor graphs with my maxisys at hot engine and high revs and they look worryingly slow compared to my other scanners which produce graphs similar to my oscilloscope.

after a few weeks of trying I came across this scale button at the top right corner of the graphing page which has numbers 1-8 by increasing this number to 4 or 8 the oxygen sensor switches quick enough and now looks normal.

does anybody know exactly what it does? does it increase the refresh rate so it captures more data?

I think you are talking about the x/y buttons at the top right of a graph?  The x button changes the time scale (how many seconds per division horizontally)   1-8 this would make the o2 appear to switch faster on higher numbers.   The y is the voltage vertical scale and the units change depending on what you are graphing.
